High IQ, Low CQ?Do you have a high IQ and a high EQ? But how aware are you of the Constitution of your own association? If you do not even know what is in the Constitution of your Association, you cannot claim to have a high CQ.On 15th February, 2003, one Member raised some doubts regarding the constitutionality of the action of the Committee. Claiming to be writing on behalf of two other Employment Agencies he names and some others he refers to collectively as "etc", his letter refers to some implied errors. The first of this error seems to show that the present committee does not understand the constitution. This Member feels that the election of Honorary Auditors should be in accordance with Article 10.1 which reads: 10.1 A firm of Certified Public Accountants shall be appointed at each Annual General Meeting for a term of one year and shall be eligible for reappointment. Note that in the Notice of Meeting sent out by the Association, the Article cited was 8.1. But the writer fails to take into account Article 7.7 which refers to " election of . . . Honory Auditors It would appear that there are two kinds of Auditors - the Honorary Auditors who are elected and CPA's who are appointed. However that may be, the important thing to note is that this writer has shown a keen interest in the business of the Association and should be commended for his effort, even if we may not agree with him. Meanwhile, you are now invited to click to test your CQ.
